- Obstruction: Grease accrual or a foreign object is limiting or prohibiting proper flow.
- Leaking connections: The seals between pipes have broken, allowing water to escape into the surrounding area.
- Blockages: Tree or shrub roots have entered the sewer line and damaged the line.
- Bellied pipe: A portion of the pipe has sunk due to ground or soil erosion, creating a valley that collects paper and waste.
- Inoperative, cracked, offset or collapsed pipe: Pipes have been damaged due to shifting soil, frozen ground, settling, etc.
